Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (Nose Plastic Surgery) Rhinoplasty is the oldest procedure in facial plastic surgery and one of the most popular. It is also the most complex operation in cosmetic surgery. Nasal anatomy is very intricate and facial structures vary from person to person. Procedures must be individualised for each and every patient. This is why you should trust a rhinoplasty specialist, one who understands the nuances of nasal surgery inside and out, and performs rhinoplasty as a large portion of their practice. Dr Gerarchi is a rhinoplasty specialist. The nose is the central focal point of your face and considered one, if not the most defining feature. A beautiful, balanced nose enhances one’s appearance and compliments other facial features as well. When your nose is out of balance because it is too large, has a bump or is even too small, it likely attracts too much attention. It is my goal to create a natural beautiful nose that fits your face. Rhinoplasty can be performed for a number of reasons from purely functional, through to reconstructive, to purely cosmetic. Noses can be made bigger or smaller, narrower or wider, shorter or longer. Crooked noses can be straightened. “Humps” can be removed.…

Facial Implants
Facial Implants The cheekbones, chin and jaw provide structure to the face. They define the face and act as scaffolding for the skin and soft tissues. Implants made from silicone gel or porous polyethylene, materials that are well tolerated by the facial tissue, can be used to augment these facial features. Placed directly on the bone and fixed in place, implants can improve facial definition, and can enhance overall facial balance and beauty dramatically. Implants are very difficult to detect and do not affect natural expressions or the mobility of the face. There are no visible scars because the implants are inserted through incisions on the inside of the mouth. Usually a day procedure performed under either local of general anaesthetic, facial implants involve about a week off work, although it may take a few more weeks for the residual swelling to entirely subside. 1Before facial implantsAfter facial implants 1Before facial implantsAfter facial implants Please feel free free to call us on (02) 9412 4599 or email if you would like any additional information about this procedure.
Fat Transfer
Fat Transfer Fat transfers (also known as autologous fat transplantation or micro-lipoinjection) harvest your own fat from a site on your body, such as the abdomen, inner thigh or buttocks, to correct wrinkles and plump up the face or hands. Fat transfer has seen a huge resurgence in popularity during the past decade, mostly due to advances in techniques that result in a more successful transfer. Fat used to contour or add volume to the face is most successful in areas that are not highly mobile, such as your cheeks, temples, around the eyes, and your chin. This treatment can also be used to correct facial deformities. As opposed to synthetic dermal fillers, successfully transferred fat stays in place permanently. The procedure can be performed under a local or general anaesthetic. Harvested fat is purified and refined before being injected into the desired location. It has the enormous advantages of yielding plentiful quantitites of plumping material to work with, and is also completely biocompatible. In addition, recent studies suggest that the stem cells in the transferred fat improve the quality of the skin overlying where the fat is transferred, making you look even younger. Fraxel re:store Dual®
Fraxel re:store Dual® Part of the aging process involves the effects of the environment on your skin. Sunspots, broken capillaries, freckles, patchy pigmentation, wrinkling, enlarged pores, and dull texture are all signs of the stresses that your skin has sustained. One of the most significant breakthroughs in improving skin quality uses the precision of laser surgery to penetrate the skin’s surface to cause micro-injuries that stimulate the healing process. This is known as fractionated laser rejuvenation. Thousands of microscopic areas of skin are treated. Deep tightening of the skin occurs in these ‘healing zones’ and old, damaged skin cells are eliminated. The intact skin around the microscopic laser injuries allows for quicker healing, and this means less down time for you. The latest advance in fractionated laser technology is the Fraxel re:store Dual®. Two separate lasers in the one machine are used to treat the skin. The outcome is predictable and highly effective for acne scarring, wrinkles around the eyes, enlarged pores, brown spots or freckles, and hormonal skin discoloration. You will find that your skin continues to improve for months following the treatment, as more and more collagen gets deposited into the deeper layers of the skin. The treatment…
Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels Over time the natural exfoliating process where old cells replace new ones slows down. A chemical peel involves a solution of one or more exfoliating agents being applied to the skin to remove the rough upper layer of skin and stimulate the rejuvenation of new skin cells. They generally result in tighter, smoother skin that is relatively free of fine lines and blemishes, such as age spots and uneven pgimentation. Chemical peels are classified as light, medium and deep according to the depth that they penetrate the skin. Light and medium facial peels are used for superficial wrinkles and discoloration, and deep chemical peels are used for more severe conditions, like severe acne. Generally the deeper the chemical peel, the longer the recovery time required. However, most people are able to return to their normal activities immediately after a light chemical peel. Chemical peels can be repated as necessary to achieve and maintain the desired results. Please feel free free to call us on (02) 9412 4599 or email if you would like any additional information about this procedure.
